13th Annual Children's Inn at NIH Charity Gala – April 2, 2011Children's Inn at NIH
A-TEK supports the Children's Inn in its cause to support children and their families who come from across the country and around the world to stay together with their families in The Inn's healing environment while receiving groundbreaking medical treatments at NIH, the nation's leading biomedical research center. While NIH takes care of the child's medical needs, The Children's Inn tends to the heart, soul and spirit. The gala has grown to become one of the most important fundraising events of the year for The Children's Inn and we are proud to support their ongoing efforts to directly impact the lives of the children and families that need their services the most.

American Cancer Society
American Cancer Society A-TEK is once again proud to support the work of the American Cancer Society through corporate donations and with our participation in Daffodil Days; one of the Society’s oldest fundraising programs. For 35 years, Daffodil Days has empowered people to make a difference in the fight against cancer by raising funds and awareness to help beat the disease, and enabling the Society to offer free programs and services to improve the lives of people facing cancer. The daffodil – a symbol of hope for a future where cancer no longer threatens those we love.

Children's National Medical Center
Children's National Medical CenterA-TEK is recognized for its continued support to Children's National Medical Center (CNMC). CNMC has provided hope to sick children and their families throughout the region for more than 130 years. What started as a small hospital in the city has grown to a nationally recognized leader in pediatric medicine with research facilities, satellite offices around the beltway, and primary care centers. Their physicians and nurses are among the best in the nation -- providing everything from routine well-baby exams to pediatric specialists in all medical disciplines. Children's is also a research facility, with hundreds of grants and studies performed each year.

Make a Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic
Make a Wish FoundationThe Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Foundation serves children who reside in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia (Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William Counties as well as city of Alexandria) and Delaware.

Founded in 1983, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc. has fulfilled the wishes of nearly 6,000 children fighting illnesses such as cancer, pediatric AIDS, cystic fibrosis, Duchene's muscular dystrophy and heart disease.

A wish fulfilled creates a memorable experience for a child fighting a life-threatening medical condition and gives him or her something positive to think about instead of medical treatments and hospital visits. Often, this "wish therapy" becomes a part of the treatment process.
