Kathryn B. Freeland, President/Chief Executive OfficerKathryn Freeland
Mrs. Freeland is President/Chief Executive Officer of A-TEK, Inc. effective with the recent acquisition of the company. Prior to acquiring A-TEK, Mrs. Freeland, was Founder and Former Chief Executive Officer of RGII Technologies, Inc., an Information Technology, Systems Integration and Engineering Solutions company who's myriad of customers included nine presidential cabinet agencies of the federal government. She directed the company with a highly strategic business plan in order to optimize profits and return on invested capital. During her tenure as CEO, Mrs. Freeland played a vital role in business development, customer satisfaction, financial stability, and employee relations. Under Mrs. Freeland's leadership, RGII more than tripled in size with revenue growing 4,800% over an 11 year period.  Prior to founding RGII, Mrs. Freeland spent over seven years supporting various Federal Government agencies in the areas of Financial, Information and Program Management Support. She successfully built and sold RGII to Computer Horizons Corp in 2003. Mrs. Freeland is also Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Freeland & Associates, LLC, a consulting services firm whose focus is partnering with businesses in the areas of: executive advisory services, interim executive support, strategic planning/mapping, market analysis/penetration, financial/accounting management, business integration/transition, and business development.

Navigating Your Way to Business SuccessMrs. Freeland holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Management from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  She most recently published her first book, Navigating Your Way to Business Success: An Entrepreneur’s Journey - www.anentrepreneursjourney.com was released in July 2009.


Greg FreelandR. Gregory Freeland, Executive Vice President – Business Strategy and Strategic Management

Mr. Freeland is the key strategist for executing A-TEK's strategic growth plan via an expanded business development model in the areas of national security and intelligence, law enforcement, life sciences, healthcare and information technology. Mr. Freeland possesses over 25 years experience in Planning, Programming, Justifying, Budgeting and Execution of various IT, R&D, Procurement and Technical government programs. Prior to joining A-TEK Mr. Freeland was President of RGII Technologies, Inc, a $50M Information Technology, Systems Integration and Engineering Solutions mid-size business headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland.  As President of RGII, Mr. Freeland was directly responsible for all planning & execution of business development and key hire strategies for the company. Mr. Freeland developed, reviewed and approved all RGII divisions balance scorecard & Quality of Service (QOS) performance metrics, and annual new business capture plans including orchestrating the strategy, and policy development for achieving new sales & revenue goals. His primary responsibility was to build the company's contract pipeline (tactical & strategic), which resulted in sustained revenue growth and profitability. Prior to joining RGII in 1993, Mr. Freeland provided management/business development consulting services to various technology companies in the Washington Metropolitan area.

Mr. Freeland holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) and Council on Foreign Relations.


Greg ShomoGregory Shomo, CPA – Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Shomo joined A-TEK in February 2011 as Chief Operating Officer. With more than 25 years experience, Mr. Shomo has lead multi-million dollar business units with industry leaders such as Lockheed Martin, AspenMed Services, and Hunter Medical, Inc. Mr. Shomo brings to A-TEK broad experience in both operations and finance. He was the recent Director of Operations, Healthcare Research & Solutions at Lockheed Martin. In this capacity, he was directly responsible for growth, sustainability and profitability of the business unit, along with day to day business/financial operations, new business development, and customer and employee relations.

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Shomo has direct accountability for A-TEK's operating business units with the responsibility for all operations management activities company-wide, to include improving the fiscal and financial performance of the organization, enhancing customer satisfaction and project management effectiveness.

Mr. Shomo is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), holding a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from James Madison University.


Debbie RiegerDebbie Rieger, Senior Vice President

Ms. Rieger is Senior Vice President of A-TEK, the company she founded in 1996 and recently acquired by Kathryn & R. Gregory Freeland in an equity transaction. In her role as Sr. Vice President, she reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for customer relationship management, capture management for new business opportunities, and support to executive management on the strategic outlook for business development activities. With extensive procurement and contracting experience, Ms. Rieger has been a long standing member of the NIH IT Acquisition and Assessment Center's Industry Advisory Council (NITAAC IAC) since its inception in 1996, and currently chairs the Government Affairs Subcommittee. She is certified in Government Procurement and Contracts Management by the University of Virginia, and has held various leadership and management positions within the government contracting industry. Ms. Rieger is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on topics related to small business ownership and Government Contracting.


Kathleen CollinsKathleen Collins, Controller

Ms. Collins was recently appointed to the A-TEK Board of Directors and elected Treasurer. Kathleen Collins joined A-TEK in 2004 and serves as Controller and Director of Accounting.   With more than 10 years operational finance and accounting experience, she reports directly to the Chief Executive Office and is responsible for the successful execution of the company’s internal and external reporting as well as ensuring full Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) compliance.   Ms. Collins has small, mid-size and large business experience, and is responsible for the day to day operations of the accounting/finance department.

Prior to joining A-TEK, Ms. Collins worked for several mid-size Government Contractors serving in various Accounting and Finance positions, as well managing the billing for a large telecommunications company.  She holds a Bachelors of Accounting from Strayer University, with a Minor in Business Administration.

Ms. Collins was recently elected Treasurer of the A-TEK Board of Directors.


Uzma Sher-Yousaf –Director, Human ResourcesUzma Sher-Yousaf

Mrs. Sher-Yousaf joined A-TEK in October 2011 as Director of Human Resources. With more than 12 years of experience, Mrs. Sher-Yousaf has been a strategic business partner with small mid-size and large business, working alongside with President/CEO, COO's, CAO's and CFO's. Mrs. Sher-Yousaf brings to A-TEK broad experience in Human Resources and Marketing along with diversity of having worked in varied business industries to include; Government Contracting, Healthcare, Manufacturing and Non-Profit.

As Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Sher-Yousaf has direct accountability for A-TEK's most valuable assets; its employees. She will be responsible for all Human Resources activities company-wide, and the day to day operations of the human resources and recruiting department. In her role of Director of Human Resources, she reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the successful execution of the company's internal and external Human Resources practices.

Mrs. Sher-Yousaf holds a Double Bachelors of Science Degrees in Human Resources and Marketing from the University of Maryland and has two Masters Degrees in Management of Information Systems and Management of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, University College.
