R. Gregory Freeland - Chairman of the Board
Mr. Freeland is the key strategist for executing
A-TEK’s strategic growth plan via an expanded business
development model in the areas of national security and intelligence,
law enforcement, life sciences, healthcare and information technology.
Mr. Freeland possesses over 25 years experience in Planning,
Programming, Justifying, Budgeting and Execution of various IT,
R&D, Procurement and Technical government programs. Prior to
joining
A-TEK Mr. Freeland was President of RGII Technologies, Inc, a
$50M Information Technology, Systems Integration and Engineering
Solutions mid-size business headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland.
As President of RGII, Mr. Freeland was directly responsible
for all planning & execution of business development and key
hire strategies for the company. Mr. Freeland developed, reviewed and
approved all RGII divisions balance scorecard & Quality of
Service (QOS) performance metrics, and annual new business capture
plans including orchestrating the strategy, and policy development for
achieving new sales & revenue goals. His primary responsibility
was to build the company’s contract pipeline (tactical
& strategic), which resulted in sustained revenue growth and
profitability. Prior to joining RGII in 1993, Mr. Freeland provided
management/business development consulting services to various
technology companies in the Washington Metropolitan area.
Mr. Freeland holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) and Council on Foreign Relations.
Kathryn B. Freeland - Vice Chair
Mrs. Freeland is President/Chief Executive Officer of A-TEK, Inc. effective with the recent acquisition of the company.
Prior to acquiring A-TEK, Mrs. Freeland, was Founder and Former Chief
Executive Officer of RGII Technologies, Inc., an Information
Technology, Systems Integration and Engineering Solutions company
who’s myriad of customers included nine presidential cabinet
agencies of the federal government. She directed the company with a
highly strategic business plan in order to optimize profits and return
on invested capital. During her tenure as CEO, Mrs. Freeland played a
vital role in business development, customer satisfaction, financial
stability, and employee relations. Under Mrs. Freeland’s
leadership, RGII more than tripled in size with revenue growing 4,800%
over an 11 year period. Prior to founding RGII, Mrs. Freeland
spent over seven years supporting various Federal Government agencies
in the areas of Financial, Information and Program Management Support.
She successfully built and sold RGII to Computer Horizons Corp in 2003.
Mrs. Freeland is also Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Freeland
& Associates, LLC, a consulting services firm whose focus is
partnering with businesses in the areas of: executive advisory
services, interim executive support, strategic planning/mapping, market
analysis/penetration, financial/accounting management, business
integration/transition, and business development.
Mrs. Freeland holds a Masters Degree in
Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Management
from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Finance from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
She most recently published her first book, Navigating Your Way to Business Success: An Entrepreneur’s Journey - www.anentrepreneursjourney.com was released in July 2009.
George Troendle - Audit Committee Chair
Mr. Troendle was recently appointed to the A-TEK Board of Directors and elected Audit Committee Chair. From 2008 to the end of 2009, Mr. Troendle was Executive Vice President and Chief
Operating Officer of ATS Corporation. Previously,
Mr. Troendle was the founder, Chief Executive Officer and a director of
Resource Consultants, Inc. ("RCI"), a broadly diversified technology
company supporting government agencies, particularly defense and
homeland security. RCI was founded in 1979. In 1988, Gilbert Associates
acquired RCI and Mr. Troendle remained in an executive role until
leading a management buy-out in 1998 and becoming Chief Executive
Officer and a director. By 2004, he had grown the company to annual
sales in excess of $300 million and more than 4,000 employees. In 2005,
Serco North America, a $500 million division of Serco Group, a $3.5
billion international services company specializing in government
operations, acquired RCI. Mr. Troendle became President of Serco North
America and served in that capacity until stepping down in 2006.
Prior to founding RCI, Mr. Troendle was one of three executives running a major division of Advanced Technology, Inc., a 300-employee technology company primarily supporting the U.S. Department of the Navy. Mr. Troendle graduated from Georgetown University with both an M.A. and B.A. in Economics.
Kathleen Collins - Treasurer
Ms. Collins was recently appointed to the A-TEK Board of
Directors and elected Treasurer.
Kathleen Collins joined A-TEK in 2004 and serves as Controller and
Director of Accounting. With more than 10 years
operational finance and accounting experience, she reports directly to
the Chief Executive Office and is responsible for the successful
execution of the company’s internal and external reporting as
well as ensuring full Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
compliance. Ms. Collins has small, mid-size and
large business experience, and is responsible for the day to day
operations of the accounting/finance department.
Prior to joining A-TEK, Ms. Collins worked for several mid-size Government Contractors serving in various Accounting and Finance positions, as well managing the billing for a large telecommunications company. She holds a Bachelors of Accounting from Strayer University, with a Minor in Business Administration.
Ms. Collins was recently elected Treasurer of the A-TEK Board of Directors.
